Team building can be motivating and inspiring, reinforcing the strengths and accomplishments of a team. It can also be restorative, including addressing issues and barriers to motivation and successful performance.
Georgia State’s Organization Development (OD) unit provides team building assistance works to achieve Patrick Lencioni’s five indicators of highly successful teams, i.e., 1) vulnerability-based trust; 2) the ability to engage in productive conflict; 3) shared commitment to the work; 4) mutually reinforced accountability; and 5) a focus on shared results.
Team building activities range from fun, play-based exercises activities to mission-focused problem-solving and everything in between.
While learning is a daily exercise, we challenge Georgia State colleges, departments, and teams this week to demonstrate their commitment to learning and talent development opportunities.
