CONSULTATION & GRIEVANCES
At Georgia State University, employees can utilize clear channels to ask questions, express concerns, and challenge decisions to ensure fairness and understanding.
Consultations
A consultation is where a supervisor or employee meets with an employee relations specialist to seek guidance regarding employment-related questions or concerns, such as questions about discipline, policies and procedures, performance management, and conflict resolution. To confirm the assigned employee relations specialist for your College or Division you can access the college and division assignments for bookings.
Grievances
A grievance can be filed within 10 calendar days for the following: involuntary terminations, suspensions, demotions or adverse actions that allegedly violate, misinterpret or improperly apply specific university policies, procedures, rules or regulations. Staff employees must work at least .5 full-time equivalency (FTE) and have completed their six-month provisional employment period to be eligible to file a grievance.
