Monica spearheads the Employee Relations, Benefits and Employee Development and Wellness Areas of Expertise. She also serves as a strategic partner to the CHRO.
The Office of Employee Relations offers consultations, facilitation and conflict resolution strategies for workplace issues. They encourage fair employment practice, provide counsel, advice and training to supervisors about employment-related inquiries and revise and implement university policies and procedures that are fair and consistent.
The Benefits Office coordinates employee health care and retirement plans, well-being incentives, tuition assistance, employee perks. It also oversees and coordinates leave management policies and procedures and workplace accommodations.
The Office of Employee Development and Wellness Services (EDWS) defines wellness as an individual’s overall intellectual, emotional, physical, social, spiritual, multicultural, environmental, financial and occupational health. They are concerned with the health and well-being of all Georgia State employees, eligible dependents and retirees.

John Day
Director, Diversity Education
John leads the University’s efforts to create an inclusive community as the Director of the Office of Diversity Education Planning (ODEP).
ODEP sponsors forums, workshops, and trainings to educate the university community on issues of race and culture, gender expression and identity, generations, sexuality, bias and micro-aggressions.
ODEP also consults with supervisors and managers about how to foster equity and inclusion in their respective departments.

As the Sr. Director of Talent Management, Deedra leads Organizational Development and Consulting, Talent Acquisition, HR Support Services along with HR IT functions.
Organizational Development and Consulting Services (ODCS) offers Coaching & Consulting services that drive performance and engagement to teams across Georgia State, in addition to Learning & Development programs that build the knowledge, skills and abilities required to deliver on Georgia State's strategic plan.
Talent Acquisition is responsible for full lifecycle recruitment of Staff positions across Georgia State including strategic sourcing, onboarding and ensuring compliance with all employment laws and leading practices.
HR Support Services provides first-level support to customers of HR Administration to reduce cycle time and improve customer satisfaction.
HR IT supports HR Administration by providing project management for all HR initiatives, HR system administration, workforce analytics along with web design for HR content.
