Throughout the year, the Benefits Staff offers informational seminars and hosts events that pertain to the needs of our employee and retiree population. New employees can attend an informative afternoon session on all aspects of their benefit options and updates as needed after initial employment. We host sessions with retirement experts, Medicare and Social Security representatives, and faculty members who have expertise in health, wellness, social and legal issues.

Social Security & Medicare Workshop
For Retirement Eligible Employees
Join the Benefits Department, and representatives from Social Security and Medicare for an informative workshop to help you create a strategy for you and or your spouse’s retirement. A question-and-answer session will take place at the end of this workshop.
If you can’t make these workshops we will offer them again next semester. You will receive another invitation when dates have been finalized.
Social Security
Knowing the Social Security basics is the beginning of being able to maximize your benefits. It is up to you to make your plan and learn the importance of having a retirement strategy for you and or your spouse’s retirement. For more information about Social Security, visit http://www.ssa.gov/ .
Medicare
Learning the Medicare lingo is the first step in understanding how Medicare works. There are lots of letters, plan names and new terms to understand. Learn what you need to know about Medicare Health plans so you can make the right decision. To check the status of your eligibility, enrollment and other Medicare benefits go to http://www.mymedicare.gov/.
