Consultations
A consultation is where a supervisor or employee meets with an employee relations specialist to seek guidance regarding employment-related questions or concerns, such as questions about discipline, policies and procedures, performance management and conflict resolution.

Grievances
A grievance can be filed within 10 calendar days for the following: involuntary terminations, suspensions, demotions or adverse actions that allegedly violate, misinterpret or improperly apply specific university policies, procedures, rules or regulations. Staff employees must work at least .5 full-time equivalency (FTE) and have completed their six-month provisional employment period to be eligible to file a grievance.
Filling A Grievance
To file a grievance with the Office of Employee Relations, select the tab below. If you are a new user, you must first register by clicking the “Register” button at the bottom left corner of the screen (after selecting the tab below). From there, you can follow the on-screen directions to register. After registering, go to the drop-down menu and select the “Employee Relations – Grievance” tab. Complete the form with as much detail as possible and submit it. Once the form is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email and you will be contacted by someone in Employee Relations.
