As a new employee, you must complete a new hire packet and I-9 verification before your first day of employment or it will delay your first paycheck, access to the university computer systems and university ID cards. You may submit forms up to 30 days before starting employment.
Note: The Department of Homeland Security requires the I-9 to be received within three days of starting employment.

New Hire Packet
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR NEW HIRE PAPER PACKETS, THE PAPER PACKETS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE!!
YOUR FIRST PAYCHECK WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE ELECTRONIC PACKET.
All new hires to Georgia State University will be required to complete an Electronic Hire Packet through the Equifax Compliance Center. Any MSS Hire Transaction initiated on the 25th or thereafter will generate an email to the new hire to complete the new electronic version of the hire packet. The MSS Hire Transaction is the ONLY method of creating the email to the new hire. The email will come from email@example.com and will contain the link to the new Electronic Hire Packet, with their system generated user id and password needed to access the system. Individuals will be required to complete all 14 (fourteen) pages of the Hire Packet before the packet can be submitted to the HRIS team for processing. Of the 14 pages in the electronic hire packet, there are 4 pages that will require the new hire to print, sign, and scan to our office at firstname.lastname@example.org. If the HRIS team does not receive the documents below, the hire process can not be completed.

- Security Questionnaire/Loyalty Oath
- Equifax Education Employment Form
- Outstanding Wages Beneficiary Form, and
- I-9 Identity Documents (List of Acceptable Documents Attached)
NOTE: Individuals will be required to scan the documents above to HRIS (email@example.com) to complete the hire process. Once we return to campus the new hire will be required to present the originals of the I9 documents at a later date.
In order to complete your I-9 verification you will need to submit proof of your citizenship status to Payroll. To find out what documentation is accepted please select your citizenship status. Note that the Department of Homeland Security requires the I-9 to be received within three days of starting employment
Provisional Application Administration Process
The Provisional Employee application is only available for future employees who have an official requirement for an email address from Georgia State University prior to the beginning of their official employment date. The authorization to use the application is only available to a limited number of administrators in each college or business unit with the approval of a Dean or Vice President.
