The University System of Georgia’s (USG) Board of Regents requires USG employees to take both an initial ethics course and a refresher ethics course. To support this mandate, Georgia State requires new employees to complete their initial ethics course within 30 days of their first day with the university. After the first year of employment, employees are required to complete a refresher ethics course developed by the Board of Regents. Employees will be notified and must take the newly updated course regardless of when they last completed the refresher ethics course. Both ethics courses can be accessed through Stacks.
Right to Know
You have a right to know about the hazards you are exposed to in the classroom or workplace. The law requires that your school or employer make you aware of the hazards and provide you with the information you need to learn or work safely. Under the Right To Know Act of 1988, your school or employer must develop a comprehensive program to inform you of hazards you may encounter in the classroom or workplace and also provide you with training in the use and handling of products containing hazardous chemicals.
