Ethics Training
The University System of Georgia’s (USG) Board of Regents (BOR) requires all USG employees to take both an Initial Ethics Course and a Refresher Ethics Course. To support this mandate, Georgia State University requires new employees to complete their Initial Ethics Course within 30 days of the date they receive their campusID.
Completing a Refresher Ethics Course is required by GSU employees who completed their initial (or previous refresher) Ethics Course 12 months or more prior to the issuance of the latest refresher Ethics Training. So, if you completed your Initial Ethics Course 5 months ago, you are not required to complete a newly published Refresher Ethics Course until after you have been at GSU for 12 months. Employees will be notified when a new refresher course is published.
Both Ethics Courses can be accessed through Stacks. Use your campusID/password combination to log into the system (there is no need to create a new account).
Right to Know
You have a right to know about the hazards you are exposed to in the classroom or workplace. The law requires that your school or employer make you aware of the hazards and provide you with the information you need to learn or work safely. Under the Right To Know Act of 1988, your school or employer must develop a comprehensive program to inform you of hazards you may encounter in the classroom or workplace and also provide you with training in the use and handling of products containing hazardous chemicals.
